Visual Identity project featuring ‘The Concertina Chair’ by Huw Evans. Huw is an award-winning furniture designer/maker, who concentrates on a material’s natural qualities and seeks to extract the potential of the material by using them in a very contemporary way. I looked at this ID project as an extension of the ethos Huw uses within his own work.
The typeface used in this project [Goldenbrook] has a classic yet modern twist. As Huw’s design style uses traditional materials in a contemporary way; using a typeface like Goldenbrook acts as a reflection and embodies this. We combined this typeface with a minimal, monochromatic colour palette that included pops of colour, one being the signature hue ‘rust’.
